The Ladybug Project works closely with Boniface Mchome at The Arkatani Primary School in Arusha, Tanzania. Boniface is an integral member and respected representative on the Ladybug team. He acts as our local liaison and key person to facilitate the various initiatives at the Arkatani Primary School. Boniface wears many hats -- teaching in classrooms, attending educational district meetings, sourcing supplies, and coordinating facilities improvement projects.
The primary objective of PAWACAP is to increase the number of reliable water points for pastoralist communities in Tanzania. This is being achieved through the drilling of boreholes, installation of water pumps and storage tanks, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation. By ensuring the protection and maintenance of water sources, the project aims to improve the livelihoods of pastoralists and contribute to sustainable water management in these communities.
The Educational Office Monduli District of Arusha has been very responsive to the endeavors of The Ladybug Project and our partnership with The Arkatani Primary School. Under the direction and leadership of Ms. Natang'aduaki Zakayo Mollel, the head educational officer of the Monduli District, many of the Ladybug Project initiatives have been supported and expedited.
The Ladybug Project is pleased that the Educational Office is also in favor of piloting Montessori programming in Arusha.

Mothers in Motion, founded by Jacinta Jesent Kyompeirwe, is a group of women, based in the Buhoma Sector of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda, that are involved in teaching women of underprivileged backgrounds the skills of weaving, empowering them with the ability to earn an income to support themselves and send their children to school.
The Faraja Center offers a variety of programs for young women, including a Montessori teacher’s training program. In this two-year program, girls who wish to become Montessori kindergarten teachers are taught Montessori values, learn about child development and practice with development tools. Mathematics, English, geography and other subjects are taught using sensory and linguistic materials.
