Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital in Uganda

This initiative establishes a hospital-based Montessori early intervention and inclusion program at Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital in Uganda. Designed for young children with disabilities, developmental delays, and developmental differences, the program will bring together Montessori education, clinical care, therapy, and family support in one coordinated, child-centered environment.

Through individualized learning plans, hands-on Montessori materials, practical life activities, sensory-motor experiences, clinical assessments, and caregiver education, the program aims to strengthen each child’s independence, communication, concentration, social participation, and readiness for inclusive learning. The initiative will also foster collaboration among educators, healthcare professionals, therapists, and families to ensure that each child’s unique strengths and needs are supported.

Ultimately, the goal is to develop a sustainable and replicable model that improves access to inclusive education and coordinated early intervention services for children with moderate to severe disabilities in Uganda and, eventually, throughout East Africa. The Entenbbe Regional Referral Hospital Inclusion Program is expected to open November 2026.
